Dhaka, Fed 2 (UNB) – The speakers at a function on Friday stressed the need for building skilled human resources to face the challenges of emerging technologies to be used in the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).
The speakers came up with the opinion at a certificate awarding and orientation ceremony of Management Professionals (ACMP) programme at Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University jointly organised by Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project of ICT Division, UK based Ernst and Young (EY) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA).
The unskilled human resources would be the major challenge for managing and operating technology based Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) to be introduced in production and services in the coming days, they said.
Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Abdul Mannan said there is no alternative to impart training to build efficient and skilled human resources as disruptive technology like AI and IoT will be used massively in the 4IR.
The speakers also stressed the need for the training over 300 IT managers who have been selected for the second phase training under ACMP programme.
The reputed teachers of department of IBA, IIT, Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad have developed international standard curriculum and module and they are providing training to the IT managers of IT sector of Bangladesh.
Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Abdul Mannan, LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim and Component Team Leader Sami Ahmed, Chairman of Management Development Programme (MDP) of IBA Prof. Dr Sheikh Morshed Jahan, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir and BACOO President Wahidur Rahman Sharif, among others, spoke at the programme.
